The World Health Organisation (WHO) observed the 3rd of March as World Hearing Day. The day objective of the day is to raise awareness levels on the prevention of deafness and hearing loss and ultimately promote ear and hearing care around the world. Earlier In 2021, World Health Organisation launched a report on hearing that highlighted the increasing number of people living with and at risk of hearing loss. It highlighted noise control as one of the seven key H.E.A.R.I.N.G. interventions and stressed the importance of mitigating exposure to loud sounds.

The theme of World Hearing Day 2022:

The theme chosen by WHO for 2022 World Hearing Day is 'To hear for life, listen with care' i.e the main focus of this year is to focus on the importance of noise control for Better Hearing.
