Union Cabinet Minister Nitin Gadkari will be awarded the 18th Late Madhavrao Limaye Award:
Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari will be vested with the 18th late Madhavrao Limaye award in the category of Karyakram Khaasdar for the year 2020-21. Under the category, Karyakram Khaasdar Efficient Member of Parliament was awarded for their effective contribution to society. Nashik Public Library, Sarvajanik Vachanalay is the body that facilitates the award.
Sarvajanik Vachanalay every year select efficient MP or MLA for their selfless work. Dr Shobha Nerlikar instituted the award in memory of her father Madhavrao Limaye. A cash prize of INR 50000 and a memento was given as part of the award to every winner.
Who is Madhavrao Limaye?
Madhavrao Limaye was a freedom fighter and an eminent journalist. He founded Maharashtra Seva Sangh to help the needy.
