Torgya is an annual festival of the Monpa Tribe celebrated in the state of Arunachal Pradesh. The festival is also known as Tawang-Torgya as it is celebrated every year in Tawang Monastery. Celebrated every year on 28th to 30th day of Dawachukchipa as per Buddhist Calendar. The main objective of torgya is to pray to the almighty for protection against external aggression and to protect people from natural wrath. 'SHANA CHAM' a special type of dance with a mask is the main attraction of the Torgya Festival. The monks showcase the Choe-Gyal Yap & Yum Tsa-Munde deities with these dances.

This year Torgya is termed as Dungyur Torgya, a special event every 3rd year, where Dalai Lama offers blessings (known as Tse-Boom) to other lamas by sending Feb Jum, a holy item to be used in rituals.
