The first water taxi service in India launched in Mumbai:
The much-awaited and India’s first water taxi service starts its operation, It will connect the east coast of Mumbai to the Navi Mumbai mainland and some other locations in the city including tourist spots like Elephanta Island and Kanhoji Angre Isle.
Planned way before three-decade, the water taxi will considerably reduce the time between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. The fleet consists of 15 boats that can carry between 10-30 passengers in a go.
What is a Water Taxi?
A Water Taxi is a special type of boat with engines fitted on it. Unlike regular boats, its seats are designed on the line of a road transport vehicle. These are very famous in Venice as a transport medium.
