Team India beat England to win the ICC Under 19 Cricket World Cup 2022:
On winning the toss England opted to bat first and got bundled out for a run of 189 in 44.5 over. Chasing 190 India put on a successful show by scoring 195 for the loss of 6 wickets and wins the game by 2.2 over spared. Raj Bawa claimed the award of Man of the Match for his spectacular show both with ball and bat, claiming 5 for 31 and putting a match-winning score of 35.
This year win is a special effort from the Indian side as the campaign in the Caribbean got hit by covid-19 when as many as six players, including captain Dhull and vice-captain Shaik Rasheed, were pushed into isolation after testing positive for the virus just a few days before the Ireland match. As a result the 17 members Indian team just somehow managed to place a playing XI. In the final match, members come back from isolation put their all to win the trophy.
