Successful launch of PSLV C52 vehicle as it carried EOS- 4 into intended Sun synchronous polar orbit:
The Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) successfully launched the PSLV C52 missile from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, SHAR, Sriharikota. The PSLV C52 carried EOS-4 onboard and placed it into intended Sun synchronous polar orbit of altitude 529 km. PSLV C52 lifted off from the launch pad at 05:59 hours IST and reached the orbit at 06:17 hours IST on February 14, 2022
Through Twitter PM Modi lauds the achievement-
"Congratulations to our space scientists on the successful launch of PSLV C52 mission. EOS-04 satellite will provide high resolution images under all weather conditions for agriculture, forestry and plantations, soil moisture and hydrology as well as flood mapping."
What is EOS- 4 Satellite?
EOS-04 is a Earth Observation Satellite developed in U R Rao Satellite Centre, Bengaluru. The satellite uses Radar Imaging that can deliver high resolution images under all weather circumstances for applications such as Agriculture, Soil Moisture & Hydrology, Forestry & Plantations,Crop mapping and terrain view. Weighing about 1710 kg, it generates 2280 W power and has a mission life of 10 years.
