Spituk Gustor Festival celebrated in the Union Territory of Ladakh 2022
The two-day annual festival, Spituk Gustor celebrated in the Union Territory of Ladakh on 30 and 31st January 2022. This Colourful festival celebrates the culture and heritage of Ladakh. Celebrated every year in the eleventh month of the Tibetan Calendar, at the Spituk Monastery, to attend these devotees from all over the region arrive. Spituk Monastery or Spituk Gompa is 8km from the city of Leh.
The festival symbolizes the victory of good over evil. Mask dance, locally called Chams is the highlight of the event. Monks of the monastery dress accordingly to local mythological deities and perform the Cham dance. Local believes the weather starts to warm after this festival. In recent times the festival gained a lot of attention from tourists all over India and World.
