Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit the first woman Vice-Chancellor of JNU:
With the approval of the Ministry of Education (MoE) to appoint Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit as the new Vice-Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), She becomes the first women Vice-Chancellor of JNU.
Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit has been appointed for a period of five years. She is replacing M Jagadesh Kumar, as Jagadish Kumar has been appointed as Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC).
She was a graduate of madras university and from the School of International Relations, JNU got her M.Phil and PhD degree. Before this appointment, Pandit was serving as the Vice-Chancellor and Professor of Politics and Public Administration at Savitribai Phule University in Maharashtra.
