S. Kishore appointed as Staff Selection Commission Chairman:
As per the recent press release of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, S. Kishore, a senior civil servant got appointed as the new Chairman of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet clears the appointment proposal of Kishore for the post.
S. Kishore is an IAS officer of the 1989 batch of West Bengal Cadre. Presently, he is serving as Special Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
About SSC:
Formed in 1975 Staff Selection Commission is a body under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions that look after the recruitment of staff for various posts under Govt. of India.
SPECIAL NOTES FOR ASPIRANTS:
- SSC is not a constitutional body.
- Union Public Service Commission comes under part XIV of the Constitution.
- UPSC Chairman: Pradeep Kumar Joshi.
- Currently, India got three all India services i.e IAS, IPS and IFS.
