RUSA scheme extended till 2026 by Govt. of India:
The Ministry of Education has given its nodes for the continuation of the Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) scheme till 31st March 2026 with an outlay of 12,929.16 crores. In this phase, the scheme would cover around 1,600 projects. For the total outlay amount, the centre will share Rs 8,120.97 crores, and the state will share Rs 4,808.19 crores i.e around a 60-40 share.
The New Phase will be inlined with the New National Policy on Education (NEP). It will support achieving Gender inclusion, Zero Discrimination, Enhance employability through vocational teaching and skill degradation etc.
About Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA):
In 2013 the Ministry of Human Resource Development (Now Ministry of Education) launched RUSA Scheme. The RUSA Scheme fund higher educational Institutions for-
- Improve the Educational Infrastructure
- Ensure Quality Education
- Provide for adequate no. of faculty
- Correct Regional disparity that prevails by the establishment of Higher Education institutions in those areas.
- Ensure syllabus inclined with the modern scientific temper
- Encourage and fund research work etc.

- The latest National Policy on Education is the third one(in 2020)
