Poet Chennaveera Kanavi passes away:
Eminent poet and writer in the Kannada language, Shri Chennaveera Kanavi has passed away at age of 93. He was often referred to as ‘Samanvaya Kavi’ and 'Soujanyada Kavi' for his combination of ancient work with modernity and fusion of common life essence in his writing. For his poetry work titled Jeeva Dhwani, he received the Sahitya Akademi Award(1981).
Born in Hombal, Karnataka Shri Kanavi completed his Master degree from the University of Karnataka, later he joined Prasaranga of Karnataka University as director. During his stint as a director, his writing career started to flourish.
On 16th October, He died from multiple organ dysfunction syndromes, resulting in a complication of COVID-19.
