India to go Diesel free in agriculture sector by 2024:
Recently Government of India Conducted a review meeting to re-examine India's Commitments towards COP-26. During the Meeting Union Minister of Power, Mr.R K Singh has announced that the country will achieve zero-diesel use in agriculture sector and diesel will be replaced with renewable energy by 2024.
To achieve the target, He urge all States to develop specific action plans and to setup executive body dedicated to energy efficiency and conservation.
This initiative is a part of India's commitment to increase the share of non-fossil fuels by 2030 and goal of acheivit net-zero emitter by 2070.
It's important to note that, The Govt of India is already running a Central Sector Scheme called PM-KUSUM(Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan Yojana ), through which Govt disburse subsidies to solarize agriculture setup.
