FOOTBALL STADIUM AT 11,000 FEET IS GOING TO BE BUILT IN LADAKH :
A football stadium is about to be built at an altitude of 11,000 feet in Ladakh. Ladakh received its first open synthetic track and football turf for the stadium under the Khelo India program, a major development.
The football stadium certainly improved the mood of the athletes. This is nothing short of a dream come true for Spituk people and children who want to be professional football players. The total cost of the project is Rs 10.68 crore. Size of the track and football turf was built on 130 kanals in the Spituk belt of the "cold desert". Tsering Stobgyas issued a statement to the ANI news agency. He said he has seen a big improvement for marathon coaches and athletes because they had to run on the road before. Earlier, Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur shared a photo of the football stadium on Twitter. He wrote, "This is NEW INDIA-Funded as part of Khelo India sports infrastructure; Open Stadium at Spituk, Leh, and Height 11,000 feet approx". Former Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju laid the foundation for all new sports facilities. It included a synthetic track and astroturf for football.
