AAHT operation, a nationwide operation by RPF to curb human trafficking:
Indian Railway Protection Force started a nationwide operation to curb human trafficking under Operation AAHT. Specialised teams will be deployed on all long-distance trains/routes to rescue victims, particularly women and children, from the grasp of traffickers. Indian Railways, which operate about 21,000 trains across the country daily, is the most used mode of transportation by the traffickers.
Between 2017-21 RPF rescued over 2000 women and children from the hands of traffickers. To hit this ever-growing number of human trafficking, RPF launched this operation AAHT.
Human Trafficking is an unlawful act of transporting humans against their will often for the use as forced labour or sexual exploitation
