Every year 4th of February is observed as World Cancer Day globally by the Union for International Cancer Control. It aims at raising global awareness and educating people about cancer. Data shows with improved knowledge about the disease death toll comes down. It's more important for a disease like cancer, if detected early cancer can be cured completely.

Every year's cancer awareness programme is hosted under a theme to popularise the efforts. This year's theme is “Close the Care Gap”. 

What is Cancer?

Cancer is a group of diseases where body cells grow uncontrollably and with time spread or invade other parts of the body.

Type of Cancer-

Cancer is mainly of four types based on where they start  Carcinomas,  Sarcomas, Leukemias(Blood Cancer) and Lymphomas(Cancer of the lymphatic system).
