WORLD BRAILLE DAY :
January 4 is celebrated as World Braille Day. World Braille Day is usually celebrated for blind or visually impaired persons. This day is celebrated annually to commemorate the birth anniversary of Louis Braille, the inventor of the Braille script or Braille code. The importance of this day is immense in spreading awareness about the importance of Braille language and raising awareness to help blind people to work and study through Braille language.
World Braille Day is a guide to the importance of freedom for visually impaired persons. Nowadays all the works like menu, statement and bill, etc. are done with the help of print writing in restaurant or bank, hospital or any other place. This is why people with blindness or visual impairment often have difficulty choosing their own work or food and do not have the freedom to keep their finances private. The date for this event was chosen by the General Assembly of the United Nations in a proclamation in November 2018.
