 Statue of Equality- A 216-foot statue of saint Ramanujacharya:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveil a 216-foot statue of Ramanujacharya in a sitting position in Hyderabad, Telangana on February 5, 2022, to mark the 1,000th birth anniversary of the saint.

Ramanujacharya, a Tamil Brahman was an exponent of Sri Vaishnavism tradition. His view and social reforms shaped Indian Culture and Values to a great extent. 

Ramanujacharya go against the caste system and without any discrimination spread his teachings amongst people who were considered untouchables. He called them by a special name Tirukulattar, meaning "of noble descent". His spiritual movement is known as Sri Vaishnava Bhakti Movement. To mark his constant effort of caste upliftment the statue is named as Statue of Equality. The statue is planned and designed by Chinna Jeyyar.
