RAGHUVENDRA TANWAR HAS BEEN APPOINTED AS THE CHAIRMAN OF ICHR :
Raghuvendra Tanwar has been appointed as the Chairman of the Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR). He has been appointed by the Government of India as Chairman of ICHR for three years.
Professor Raghuvendra Tanwar joined Kurukshetra University (KU) in August 1977 as a Lecturer. He has an outstanding academic record with two gold medals in MA history. In 1997, he was appointed an open selection professor. He also served as KU's Dean of Academic Affairs and Dean of Social Sciences, and retired in February 2015. He then joined the Haryana Academy of History and Culture in July 2016 as the Director. He was awarded the prestigious UGC National Fellowship (Research Award) in 2002-05. From 2013 to 2015, Prof. Tanwar conducted a major research project on Jammu & Kashmir for the period 1947-53.
Professor Raghuvendra Tanwar's most recent study is an illustrated Story of India's Partition. The illustrated story is published in English and Hindi by the Publication Division of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, GOI. Not only that, he has several other major publications including an illustrated biography of Bansi Lal and an illustrated biography of Sir Chhotu Ram.
