PHILIPPINES IS GOING TO BUY BRAHMOS CRUISE MISSILE FROM INDIA :
The Philippines is going to buy BrahMos cruise missiles from India. The Philippines has accepted BrahMos Aerospace Private Limited's to supply Shore-Based Anti-Ship Missile System Acquisition Project for its navy. The offer is valued at USD 3,749 million and the notice of award has been sent to BrahMos officials. The notice has been sent to officials by the Philippines Department of National Defence.
On 11 January 2022, the Indian Navy and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully completed test flight of the BrahMos Supersonic cruise missile. This BrahMos missile is a joint venture between India and Russia and DRDO represents the Indian side here. The BrahMos cruise missile has been test-launched from the Indian Navy's latest warship INS Visakhapatnam.
Contextually, the name Brahmos comes from the rivers Brahmaputra and Moskva. BrahMos is the main weapon system of the Indian Navy's warships. Not only that, it has been deployed on almost all page platforms and is capable of flying at 2.8 Mach or about three times the speed of sound. Senior scientist Atul Dinkar Rane has been appointed as the new head of BrahMos Aerospace Limited. He has worked with the firm since its inception. It is hoped that India will probably receive more orders for missile systems from friendly countries. Because India has started talks with some other countries at an advanced stage.
