 Nusantara the New Capital of Indonesia, replacing Jakarta:

The city of Nusantara will replace Jakarta as the Capital of Indonesia. Nusantara was chosen as the new capital city name of Indonesia to embody the national vision known as Wawasan Nusantara.

The heavily populated city of Jakarta is home to nearly 10 million people and has been facing the issue of overuse of groundwater due to large-scale city developments. The problem worsened with the rising sea levels. This shift is set to slow down the rate of development ultimately the rate at which Jakarta sinks into the Java Sea.

Nusantara is located on the coast of Borneo Island, it will be a planned city set to be inaugurated in 2024 with an estimated area of 2400 sq. km.
