North East on Wheels Expedition Launched by Minister of State for Culture, Meenakshi Lekhi: 

Minister of State for Culture, Meenakshi Lekhi has launched the ‘North East on Wheels Expedition’ in New Delhi to promote the Culture of Northeastern States.

The expedition is scheduled between 8th to 16th April to mark the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. This will be a biker expedition where 75 bikers will be selected from all over the country. They will cover North-East India in 6 groups starting from Guwahati.

They will also promote the Dekho Apna Desh initiative of the Ministry of Tourism, which is aimed at promoting domestic tourism. North-East India with its vast natural beauty and many different types of cultures is expected to benefit through this. They will carry the message of the importance of Road Safety to aware people of road safety.
