Mirabai Chanu takes charge as Additional Superintendent of Police Manipur, visits National War Memorial:

2020 Tokyo Olympic Silver Medallist Mirabai Chanu visited National War Memorial in New Delhi, paying homage to brave sons of this soil. She urges every Indian to visit the epitome of sacrifice and valour.

National War Memorial has been built to honour the courage, valour and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces. Depicting the glorious war history of India since 1947, the memorial is a gestation on the idea of rebirth of those unsung heroes through their stories, journey and struggles translated as spatial expressions.

Mirabai said, “I am mesmerized with how the concept of building this memorial is inspired by the historic ‘Chakravyuh’ formation and the walls decorated with bronze murals depicting the battle scenes fought by the sons of our soil.”

She also got appointed as Additional Superintendent of Police(sports) in the Manipur Police. Manipur Government had announced in July 2021 that Chanu will be appointed ADS (Sports) following her victory at the Tokyo Olympics.
