Major General Vikas Lakhera Has Been Appointed as IG of Assam Rifles || Some Information about His Appointment, Major General Lakhera and Assam Rifles || 2022 ||

MAJOR GENERAL VIKAS LAKHERA HAS BEEN APPOINTED AS IG OF ASSAM RIFLES :

      Major General Vikas Lakhera has been appointed as Inspector General of Assam Rifles. He is the 20th Inspector General of Assam Rifles. A release from the Assam Rifles has announced his appointment on 6 January. He was preceded in this post by Major General VPS Kaushik.

      Major General Vikas Lakhera, a postgraduate of the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, was commissioned into the Sikh Li Regiment on June 9, 1990. A statement from the Assam Rifles said that Major General Lakhera has vast operational experience in planning and conducting counter-terrorism operations in Jammu & Kashmir and Assam. Major General Lakhera received Sena Medal, Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card and two GOC-in-C commendation Cards and commanded an infantry brigade at Sriganganagar before he left the HQ 4 Corps as Brig Q. He also attended the Higher Defence Management Course and the prestigious National Defence College Course at the Royal College of Defence Studies, London (UK).
