Lucknow IPL Team will be called Lucknow Super Giants:
The IPL franchise based in Lucknow which is owned by RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group has been renamed Lucknow Super Giants ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction.
Previously Lucknow team announced this year their team will be lead by KL Rahul. Moreover they roped in Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis and leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi before going into this years mega auction.
In 2021, the franchise was purchased by Sanjiv Goenka-owned of the RPSG group for an amount of Rs 7090 Crores, a record amount in IPL history. The other new team to enter this year competition is from Ahmedabad, bought by the Irelia Company Pte Ltd. (CVC Capital Partners) for Rs 5635 Crores.
