Lakshya Sen Became the Champion in 2022 Men's Singles Category of India Open || Some Information about Sen, His Opponent, Final Match and India Open || 2022 ||

LAKSHYA SEN BECAME THE CHAMPION IN THE 2022 MEN'S SINGLES CATEGORY OF INDIA OPEN :

      Lakshya Sen won the India Open men's singles title. He won the title by defeating reigning world champion Loh Kean Yew 24-22, 21-17 in a thrilling final in New Delhi on Sunday 16 January. With this, he became the first Indian to win the men's singles title at the India Open in his debut.

      Kean Yew, who lost in the final to Lakshya, defeated Kidambi Srikanth in a 54 minutes long match in December 2021 to win a surprise World Championship title. With this Lakshya won his first Super 500 title on the BWF tour. Earlier, he won bronze after losing to Srikanth in the semifinals of the 2021 World Championships.

      In the final, Lakshya took a 16-10 lead in the first game. Then his opponent Kean Yew was able to fight and equalize 19-19 and before Lakshya won 24-22, these two match points were exchanged. After the first game there was a close fight in the second game but Lakshya won two points in a row after leading 19-17 and pocketed the match. Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty won the men's doubles title before Lakshya on the last day of the tournament. They beat Indonesia's top seeds Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan 21-16, 26-24 to win their first India Open title.
