HIMACHAL PRADESH CM LAUNCHED AN APP CALLED APNA KANGRA :
On Thursday, January 20, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur launched a new app called Apna Kangra. He launched the app to provide a hassle-free experience for tourists and to encourage the sale of local handicrafts. According to him, the purpose of this app is to empower rural women and provide job opportunities to the youth.
The app aims to enhance hospitality services such as hotels, homestays and traveler transportation. In addition, the app will serve as an e-marketing platform for SHG products from the district, Thakur said. He further said that the facility of medical payment would be extended to all retired government employees of the state, such as all retired government employees of Himachal Pradesh State Board of Education. The initiative will cost Rs 1.61 crore a year. Not only that, he said the initiative would benefit 750 retired employees. He noted that the previous government had discontinued this facility for board pensioners from April 2014.
