Former Japan PM Shinzo Abe conferred with Netaji Award 2022:
Former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo AbeFormer Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe was vested with Netaji Award 2022 by the Netaji Research Bureau on the 125th birth anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose.
Nakamura Yutaka, the Consul general of Japan in Kolkata received the honour on behalf of Shinzo Abe at a function organised by the Netaji Research bureau at the famous Elgin Road residence of Netaji.
Shinzo Abe expressed his gratitude on a written note as read out by the japan consulate general.
"As former Prime Minister of Japan and in my capacity as a member of the House of Representatives, I am determined to do my utmost to continue contributing to the development of bilateral relations," he said.
Grand-nephew of the legendary freedom fighter Netaji and Director of Netaji Research Bureau, Sugata Bose described Mr Abe as a great admirer of Netaji Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
