FIRST WORLD DEAF T20 CRICKET CHAMPIONSHIP 2023 WILL BE HELD IN KERALA :
The first World Deaf T20 Cricket Championship 2023 will be held in the state of Kerala from 10 January 2023 to 20 January. The All India Sports Council of the Deaf (AISCD) has recently received approval from the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD) to host the championship.
The championship for the deaf was originally scheduled to take place in 2020-21. But at that time, unfortunately, the coronavirus became pandemic all over the world. For that, most parts of the world were fallen into lockdown. Not only that, all the events, tournaments were canceled. So this championship was postponed and scheduled for 2022 initially. But now the championship has been fixed in 2023. It is expected that at least eight countries will participate in the championship. In addition, for the first time in India, this kind of international event is being held with the approval of ICSD. Contextually, AISCD is the only center-recognized national sports federation for the deaf. ICSD is the only international federation recognized by the International Olympic Committee as governing body of the Deaf Sports Movement and Deaflympics.
