First Made in Africa satellite launched by South Africa:
South Africa has launched its first-ever 'Made in Africa' satellite constellation from Cape Canaveral in the USA. Three locally produced nanosatellites, which made up the country's first Maritime Domain Awareness Satellite (MDASat) constellation were launched with the help of SpaceX's Transporter-3, a rideshare mission.
South Africa's Minister of Science and Innovation said that this launch will further cement South Africa's position as a leader of small satellite building in the African Continent. He also added that this will also help South African aim for a technology-based economy.
