DURGA SHANKER MISHRA HAS BEEN APPOINTED AS THE NEWCHIEF SECRETARY OF UTTAR PRADESH :
Durga Shanker Mishra, a 1984 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, was appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh.
A proposal was made to appoint Durga Shanker Mishra as the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh as per the order of the Ministry of Personnel. The order of the Cabinet Appointments Committee said, "The proposal made by the State Government of Uttar Pradesh for Durga Shanker Mishra as the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh has approved the return to the cadre."
Durga Shanker Mishra's tenure was supposed to end but his tenure was extended by one year. He is a 1984 batch IAS officer who is due to retire in February 2023. Arriving in Lucknow on Thursday morning, December 30, 2021, Durga Shanker Mishra was welcomed by the high-ranking officials of the airport and then presented a guard of honor at the Yojana Bhavan. He is known as an efficient administrator and a no-nonsense officer and served in the Chief Minister's Secretariat during the Mayawati regime.
