Chanchal Kumar appointed as new MD of NHIDCL:
Chanchal Kumar became the Managing Director of National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL), a body under the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH).
He is appointed in the rank of an Additional Secretary. Chanchal Kumar, a 1992 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre, is presently Principal Secretary of Bihar’s CM Nitish Kumar.
NHIDCL was formed in 2014 under the Companies Act,2013. It's responsible maintenance and management of the national highways, strategic roads and other infrastructure of India. Apart from highways, NHIDCL also constructs logistic hubs and transport-related infrastructures e.g. multimodal transport hubs in strategic locations. Internationally NHIDCL provides its services of highway and bridge construction in Nepal.
