Australia and Japan Have Signed a Defence Agreement to Deal with China || Some Information about the Agreement and Japan || 2022 ||

AUSTRALIA AND JAPAN HAVE SIGNED A DEFENCE AGREEMENT TO DEAL WITH CHINA :

Australia has recently signed a defense agreement with Japan. The reason behind the signing of this agreement, called "landmark", is that it will increase the close cooperation between their military forces and help curb China's growing assertiveness in the Indo-Pacific region.

Until now, Japan has not signed any defense agreement with any country other than the United States. The Prime Ministers of the two countries met at a virtual summit to sign the Reciprocal Access Agreement. Negotiations for the agreement have been going on for more than a year between Japan and Australia. The agreement aims to remove legal barriers to allowing a country's troops to enter other countries for training and other purposes. Addressing the agreement at a pivotal moment, Australian Prime Minister Morrison said this is a "pivotal moment for Australia and Japan (for) the security of our two nations and our people". The agreement is based on a strategic dialogue known as the " the Quad". This "Quad" includes Japan, Australia, the United States and India. Contextually, in the Aukus agreement that Australia signed with the United States and Britain in 2021, both countries pledged to assist Australia in acquiring nuclear-powered submarines.
