 A new species of Frog named after Greta Thunberg by the scientists:

A new species of rain frog, discovered in the jungles of Panama, has been named after young Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg. The species has been named Pristimantis gretathunbergae, popularly known as Greta Thunberg Rainfrog.

Interestingly enough this frog was originally discovered back in 2012 and was thought to be part of the already existing Pristimantis family. Although, recent DNA analysis shows that the frog is a new species.

It was named after Greta Thunberg when The Rainforest Trust held an auction that allowed the winner to name new species. The frog was discovered at a reserve established by the AdoptaBosque with support from Rainforest Trust.
