Olaf Scholz Has Become the New Chancellor of Germany || Some Information about Scholz and Germany || 2021 ||

OLAF SCHOLZ HAS BECOME THE NEW CHANCELLOR OF GERMANY :

      Olaf Scholz has been named the new Chancellor of Germany. On Wednesday, December 8, 2021, he has been sworn in as the new Chancellor. With that, he has taken over as Chancellor, replacing former Chancellor Angela Markel.

      Angela Markel has ended her chancellery after a 31-year political career and Scholz became Germany's new chancellor after 16 years of her leadership. Born on June 14, 1958, Olaf Scholz is a member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) and served as Vice-Chancellor to former German Chancellor Markel. According to a report from the BBC, Scholz has promised that he would always be on the move to lead Germany to a new beginning. Since he was Vice-Chancellor he has been a candidate for continuity and because of his work he has been supported by 395 votes to 303 by Parliament. He has then formally been appointed the 9th Federal Chancellor by President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. Scholz's initial primary objective will be to tackle the COVID-19 crisis, at the same time, he is committed to modernising Germany and fighting the climate crisis, with a focus on renewable energy.
