Now Israel's Tel Aviv Has Become the World's Most Expensive City to Live in || Some Information about the Rankings and Israel || 2021 ||

NOW ISRAEL'S TEL AVIV HAS BECOME THE WORLD'S MOST EXPENSIVE CITY TO LIVE IN :

Tel Aviv in Israel has become the most expensive city in the world to live in. This is stated in the latest Worldwide Cost of Living 2021 report prepared by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU). Tel Aviv has become the most expensive city in the world, surpassing Paris and Singapore.

Syria's Damascus is the cheapest city in the world in terms of cost. Worldwide Cost of Living searches for cost of living in 173 cities, as well as is measured against "impactful global events". Contextually, this Worldwide Cost of Living Index is composed by comparing prices in US dollars for goods and services in 173 cities. The reason for Tel Aviv's uprise to the rankings is partly the rise in the strength of the national currency, the shekel, against the dollar, as well as rising prices for transportation and groceries. Paris, Zurich and Hong Kong were joint first in the 2020 list, but Paris was joint second with Singapore in the 2021 list. Zurich and Hong Kong were in third place, New York in sixth and Geneva in seventh, the rest were Copenhagen in eighth, Los Angeles in ninth and finally Osaka in tenth.
