JAWAD CYCLONE'S NAME HAS BEEN NAMED BY SAUDI ARABIA :
Saudi Arabia has named the cyclone Jawad, although it is pronounced as Jowad. The name "Jawad" means generous. The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) maintains a rotational list of the names of cyclones. There are currently a total of 169 names on this list, specifying the names of each tropical region. These names will be used on a rotational basis, but its name will never be used if a cyclone is particularly lethal. The name of that cyclone is then replaced with another name.
Cyclone "Jawad" is expected to weaken in a weak deep depression before landing near Puri in Odisha on Sunday, the India Meteorological Department said in a statement on Saturday, December 4. The statement also said that the cyclone was concentrated in westcentral Bay of Bengal about 230 km southeast of Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and 410 km south-southwest of Puri in Odisha. The cause is believed to be a depression formed in the Andaman Sea on 30 November. The cyclone turned into a depression on December 2, followed by a deeper depression the next morning and a cyclone at noon. Fishermen in the Bay of Bengal have been banned from going to sea till Sunday. Cyclone Jawad is the third cyclone of 2021 to hit the east coast, earlier, Yaas was hit in May and Gulab in September.
