INDIA'S FIRST RECYCLED PVC PLASTIC CREDIT CARD HAS BEEN LAUNCHED BY HSBC INDIA :

HSBC India has launched India's first credit card which is made of recycled PVC (Polyvinyl chloride) plastic. HSBC India has officially launched this card service on Thursday 25th November.

This rollout is part of a programme started by HSBC Group. This rollout has introduced sustainable cards across its global position to support its global commitment to sustainability and a net-zero future. HSBC India has launched cards in partnership with global card manufacturer IDEMIA. Single-use PVC plastics are extremely harmful to the world, so the goal of this initiative is to gradually eliminate these single-use PVC plastics. Each card is made from 85% recycled plastic. The new cards will help save 3.18 grams of plastic waste per card and will also help reduce overall carbon emissions. Amit Kakatikar, senior vice-president (financial institutions, India), IDEMIA, said that the recycled PVC plastic credit card is a positive recognition of their commitment to rethink how plastic design can be used and reused in the payment industry while offering customers sophisticated solutions.
