INDIA INTERNATIONAL SCIENCE FESTIVAL 2021 WILL BE HELD IN GOA :
India International Science Festival 2021 (IISF) will be held in Goa. It is an annual event dedicated to the celebration of science and technology. This time the event is the 7th edition of IISF. IISF 2021 will be held from 10th December to 13th December at Panaji, Goa. This IISF 2021 will be held in both individual as well as virtual modes.
India International Science Festival 2021 (IISF) will be organised by the Ministry of Earth Sciences, the Ministry of Science and Technology, Vijnana Bharati and the Government of Goa. The Goa-based National Center for Polar and Ocean Research (NCPOR) will also serve as the nodal agency for IISF 2021. Contextually, NCPOR oversees India's research activities in the polar and Southern Ocean regions. The theme of IISF 2021 is "Celebrating Creativity in Science, Technology and Innovation for Prosperous India", in line with this, 12 programmes including mega science and technology expo have been planned. IISF first started in Delhi in 2015 as an initiative of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Earth Sciences in collaboration with Vijnana Bharati. Formerly known as Swadeshi Science Movement, it was started to celebrate science for all, especially to promote public engagement with science and its benefits. Due to the pandemic in the year 2020, the festival was held from December 22 to 25 in virtual mode only.
