WEST BENGAL HAS ANNOUNCED TO OBSERVE 1st JANUARY - AS STUDENT'S DAY :
The West Bengal State Government has recently taken an important initiative to observe January -1 as Student's Day in the state. The announcement has been made by Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at an administrative meeting in North 24 Parganas district on Wednesday, November 17. The initiative will start on January 1, 2022.
The Chief Minister has inaugurated the initiative during an administrative meeting at Nazrul Centenary Bhaban in Madhyamgram of North 24 Parganas district and said that the day would be dedicated to the students as they are the future of the country. She said that while Sports Day and Kanyashree Day are celebrated in the state, Student's Day should also be observed. She has also announced that an education fair will be held on December 20, during which about 10,000 students in the state will be given student credit cards which will be approved by the State Bank in 10 to 15 days. She has also announced that the government will start from January 2 to 10. Incidentally, for those who have been living in Bengal for more than 10 years, the Government of West Bengal has announced a "Student Credit Card Scheme", through which those eligible will be able to avail loans for undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and post-doctoral studies in India or abroad. According to the Chief Minister, most of the promises she made during the election have been fulfilled.
