VETERAN DIPLOMAT VINAY KUMAR HAS BEEN APPOINTED AS INDIA'S NEXT AMBASSADOR TO MYANMAR :
Veteran diplomat Vinay Kumar was appointed as India's next Ambassador to Myanmar. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has made this announcement on Monday, 15 November.
Vinay Kumar is a 1992-batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer. He is currently serving as additional secretary at the MEA Headquarters, Delhi. The MEA has recently issued a brief statement. It said he was expected to take over as India's ambassador to Myanmar soon. Vinay Kumar will take over the post after Saurabh Kumar stepped down as ambassador. Saurabh Kumar has been the Ambassador of India to Myanmar since January 2019. Myanmar is one of the few strategic neighbors of India. Myanmar shares a 1,640 km long border with several northeastern Indian states, including militancy-ravaged Nagaland and Manipur.
