UNITED KINGDOM HAS UNVEILED A NEW 5 POUND COIN TO CELEBRATE LIFE AND LEGACY OF MAHATMA GANDHI :
A new 5 pound coin has recently been unveiled in the United Kingdom (UK). Chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced this on Thursday, November 4, 2021. The main purpose of this coin is to commemorate the life and legacy of Mahatma Gandhi, India's freedom fighter.
A 5 pound coin has been unveiled in the UK on the occasion of Diwali. Incidentally, 2021 is the 75th anniversary of India's independence, and this year the coin was unveiled coincidentally. The coin has been part of the Royal Mint's larger Diwali collection. The Diwali collection features a picture of the Hindu goddess Lakshmi with the first gold bar in the UK. The coin was unveiled with the aim of enhancing lasting ties and cultural ties between the United Kingdom and India. This is the first time Gandhi has been commemorated in an official UK currency. Rishi Sunak chose the final design of this coin. He is the master of the mint. 20 grams of Gold Lakshmi Bar was prepared jointly with the Hindu community.
