SPACEX HAS LAUNCHED CREW-3 MISSION :
SpaceX has recently launched four astronauts for the International Space Station (ISS). The main purpose of the mission launched from Florida is to keep the crew-missions moving steadily. Launched on 10 November 2021, the mission is named Crew-3.
The Crew-3 mission was launched as a joint venture between the US space agency NASA and SpaceX, a private company owned by Elon Musk. The mission will bring the quartet to the International Space Station (ISS) for a six-month stay of four astronauts in orbit in a research laboratory. Astronauts have been carried by SpaceX's own crew dragon capsules on top of a Falcon 9 rocket. NASA astronaut Raja Chari of Indian descent will be the commander of this mission. The other three are Tom Marshburn and Kayla Barron and European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut Matthias Maurer. With that, Chari, Barron and Maurer have gone into space for the first time. This mission is the third operational crew launch for NASA by SpaceX. With this mission, the total number of astronauts sent into space by SpaceX has reached 18. The Crew-3 represents the third of six missions for SpaceX and NASA is now benefiting from the investment that NASA made in the development of the company's spacecraft. The Crew Dragon capsule assigned to this Crew-3 mission is called Endurance, having previously handled the capsule Resilience and Endeavor astronauts flight. Next time SpaceX is expected to add a fourth crew dragon.
