NFT Has Been Named as Word of The Year 2021 by Collins Dictionary || Some Information about NFT and Collins Dictionary || 2021 ||

NFT HAS BEEN NAMED AS WORD OF THE YEAR 2021 BY COLLINS DICTIONARY :

Collins Dictionary has recently selected the NFT phrase as the word of the year 2021. The NFT is short for non-fungible token. This indicates that abbreviated usage rates are increased by more than 11,000% in 2021.

NFTs are certificates that you own something digital like original versions of viral videos, memes or tweets. So these original versions can be sold as art through it. Some people have become very rich through the sales of NFT in 2021. From Charlie Bit My Finger video to the Harambe the gorilla photo have all been sold. Although NFT is an abbreviated form of a word, everyone is confused about how its use has increased everywhere. Alex Beecroft of Collins Dictionary has called the increase "unusual" and said it was not known if the word would have a lasting effect, but its sudden appearance everywhere made it the word of the year. NFT is one of the three tech-based words on Collins' new vocabulary list, the other two being "crypto" and "metaverse". "Crypto" is an acronym for cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin and "metaverse" is a term used to describe the three-dimensional virtual world. Contextually, the word of the year 2020 was "lockdown".
