India has recently started its 41st Scientific Expedition in which country ?

INDIA HAS STARTED IT's  41ST SCIENTIFIC EXPEDITION IN ANTARCTICA :

India has launched 41st scientific expedition to Antarctica. The mission began with the first batch of 23 scientists and support staff arriving at Maitri, the Indian Antarctic station of the Southern White Continent recently.

The first goal of this mission is to conduct geological exploration on the surface of Amery ice shelf at Bharati station. The second is to prepare for the survey by digging 500 meters of ice near Maitri station. It will help us understand the Antarctic climate, westerly winds, greenhouse gases, etc. from a single climate reservoir for the last 10,000 years. Then Indian scientists will perform ice-core drilling. For this, help will be sought from British Antarctic Survey and Norwegian Polar Institute. Four more batches will reach in Antarctica by air using DROMLAN technology and chartered ice-class vessel MV Vasiliy Golovnin. They will arrive in mid-January 2022. It is expected that the crew will come back to Cape Town in late March or early April in 2022. At that time a team of 48 members will be left for the winter. The first Indian Antarctic program was started in 1981 and 40 scientific expeditions were conducted before 2021. Of these, three permanent stations named DakshinGangotri (1983), Maitri (1988) and Bharati (2021) were also constructed of which Maitri and Bharati are now fully operational.
