HABIBGANJ RAILWAY STATION HAS BEEN RENAMED AS RANI KAMLAPATI STATION :
Habibganj Railway Station in Madhya Pradesh has been renamed as Rani Kamlapati Station. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the new named station on Monday, November 15.
Habibganj station renovation has cost around Rs 100 crore. The station has been renovated and renamed after Gond queen Rani Kamlapati to provide premium services like airport. The center decided to remember Birsa Munda on November 15 as "Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas" to commemorate the occasion, at which time it also decided to change the name of the station. Although the naming issue has caused controversy from the opposition, some stations have been renamed since the BJP rule. In 2018, Mughalsarai Junction was renamed as Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Allahabad was renamed Prayagraj in the same year, Faizabad Junction was renamed as Ayadhya Cantonment Station during Diwali of 2021. The Madhya Pradesh government had sent a letter to the Home Ministry seeking renaming, with the approval of the Home Ministry, the renaming process began.
