Pakistan's Asif Ali has been named the ICC men's best player in October, 2021. Asif Ali and Ireland's Laura Delany were voted for the ICC Players of the Month for October. Asif Ali has defeated Shakib Al Hasan of Bangladesh and David Wiese of Namibia in the men's event. At the same time, Mary-Anne Musonda has been defeated in the women's award.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the winners of the ICC Players of the Month award in October. It recognizes and celebrates the best performances of cricketers, mainly those who have occupied the best positions as men and women in all forms of international cricket throughout the year. Asif Ali has won the title in October 2021. Asif Ali has scored 52 not out in three matches for Pakistan in the ICC Men's Twenty20 World Cup in October and scored at a strike rate of 273.68. He has won the first title of the tournament with a total of 27 off 12 balls to beat New Zealand. Later, when Pakistan needed 2 runs in the last two overs against Afghanistan, Asif Ali hit four sixes in 19 overs.
