Andhra Pradesh Has Received Best Marine State Award || Some Information about This Award and The Winners || 2021 ||

ANDHRA PRADESH HAS RECEIVED BEST MARINE STATE AWARD :

      On Sunday 21 November 2021, the Center has declared Andhra Pradesh as the best marine state in India. Telangana has proved itself to be the best state in inland fisheries. On the occasion of "World Fisheries Day", the best performing states have been selected and awarded.

      Minister Parshottam Rupala has announced the awards at a programme in Bhubaneswar. He is the Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying from 7 July, 2021. He has also given a speech. There, he said that the Center has fixed a target, which is to achieve Rs 1 lakh crore export from the sector by 2024-25. According to him, states should be inspired by each other, as well as explore options for growth in the marine sector. He said the country needs eco-friendly fishing. With this, he thinks, the search for sustainability of this sector should be continued. Incidentally, Balasore in Odisha and Balaghat in Madhya Pradesh have won the award for Best Marine District and Best District in Inland Fisheries respectively. In the Hilly and North East categories, the best state was Tripura and the best district was Bongaigaon in Assam. Exhibition stalls were set up at the venue with the joint efforts of farmers and entrepreneurs. Minister Parshottam Rupala visited the stalls with representatives. Fisheries posters and jingles were also published here.
