New Speaker of Tripura Assembly - Ratan Chakraborty 


RATAN CHAKRABORTY  TOOK OVER AS SPEAKER OF TRIPURA STATE ASSEMBLY :

      About three weeks after Rebati Mohan Das resigned for citing personal reasons, Ratan Chakraborty, MLA of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) took over as speaker of the Tripura state assembly on Friday.
      Rebati Mohan Das yielded his resignation to Deputy Speaker Biswabandhu Sen on September 2.

      Only Ratan Chakraborty's nomination papers were submitted till Thursday, after which he was picked unopposed.

      Shri Biplab Kumar Deb, Chief Minister of Tripura, congratulated him and said "Heartfelt congratulations to Shri Ratan Chakraborty Ji on being elected as the Speaker of the Tripura Assembly. Wishing him a great tenure ahead. I am sure, under his guidance, the Tripura assembly will do commendable work for the development of 37 lakh people of state."

• Ratan Chakraborty was born on 17 July in the year of 1951.

• His father is Late Fatik Chandra Chakraborty.

• He is an MLA of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

• He is the second speaker of the Tripura state assembly in the past 3.5 years.
