Who has been appointed as the new head coach of the Indian Cricket Team

RAHUL DRAVID HAS BEEN APPOINTED AS THE NEW HEAD COACH OF THE INDIAN CRICKET TEAM :

Rahul Dravid has been appointed as the new head coach of the Indian cricket team. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has finally persuaded Rahul Dravid to take charge as head coach of the cricket team. BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah met Rahul Dravid in Dubai on Saturday. After a long discussion between them, Dravid agreed to take charge as head coach for two years.

After the T20 World Cup, it was certain that Ravi Shastri would leave his post as head coach, then BCCI wanted Dravid to take in charge the post. He wanted to convey to BCCI that he has a family in Bangalore and he has a responsibility towards them, his children are still in school, he needs to take care of daily household chores. He was very happy to be in charge of the National Cricket Academy (NCA). When his contract with the NCA expired in August, Dravid reapplied. BCCI was then busy with other options. For Anil Kumble's past feud with Virat Kohli and V. V. S. Laxman's lack of experience as a full-time coach, those offers could not be fulfilled. Based on Rahul Dravid's past experience, BCCI thought that he would be a suitable candidate to guide the team as the team has entered a transition mode.
