Which State Govt Launched a "Swechha" Campaign to Provide Sanitary Napkins? || Some Information about the "Swechha" Campaign || 2021 ||

Swechha campaign was launched by Andhra Pradesh Government.

ANDHRA PRADESH GOVERNMENT LAUNCHED A CAMPAIGN TO PROVIDE SANITARY NAPKINS :

      Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched the "Swechha" campaign to ensure affordable access to young girls and women's health and menstrual hygiene products. Sweccha means freedom and according to the state government, its purpose is to prioritize women's personal hygiene and to encourage healthy dialogue of this information.

      Under this scheme, the state government will provide free sanitary napkins to female students studying in government educational institutions. Every month, 10 sanitary napkins will be provided to about 10 lakh young girls in classes 7 to 12 in all government schools and intermediate colleges in the state. 120 napkins have been allocated for each female student annually, even during the summer holidays they will be provided napkins as per their dues before leaving school. One female educator will be appointed as the nodal officer in each school so that she can provide sanitary napkins, safe disposal methods and help female students in any time of need. For more safe and environment-friendly way of disposal, the state government has installed a total of 6,417 incinerators across the state under the Clean Andhra Pradesh (CLAP) initiative.
